Do you know the classic kids book We're going on a bear hunt? It's a favorite at out house. The illustrations and silly story really appeal to children. A few years ago we even went to a birthday party based on this book....we walked though a field to try and find the bear!
Lately this book has been on our minds. Today, I overheard S saying "we can't go over it, we can't go under it, we've got to go through it!" It made me think about this life that we live. It's full of stuff that we have to go through.
Maybe St. Therese said it best "When we yield to discouragement, it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future." Going through our life with our eyes front and using our mind intentionally can help us. Thinking about ways to go over it (or over and over and over it) or ways to get under it or around it are not beneficial. Experiences are allowed into our path every day for our benefit.
So here's to going through it by remaining peaceful and joyful all the way home.

Micheal Rosen telling the story of WBOABH. I turned the volume off and read the words for the kids. They loved this. Now we can act it out ourselves.
