little sacrifices

Nearly six years (maybe more) ago I read an article in Faith and Family about doing something each day during Advent to prepare spiritually. This year I finally got a chance to try it with the older girls.

They each have a box with 20+ slips of paper. Each paper contains a hand written sacrifice. Each day they pull out one slip and secretly do it all day. I know that today someone gave up media because she promptly ran upstairs when a DVD was played. :)

I'm resisting the urge to read these...I want it to be their way of growing spiritually during Advent.
