Setting: Mother comes into the kitchen to find a 9 year old and a 7 year old washing dishes by hand and putting them away. (Mother has been schleping a baby all day and just finished showering a toddler...she is tired)

Mom: "Wow. The kitchen table has been wiped off. The dishes are getting washed! Wow. This is looking very clean!"

Child: "Aren't you glad you have good kids?"

Mom: "I suspect if you were bad kids I would think it was my own fault, but you'd still be good even if the kitchen wasn't clean."

Child: "Well, it WOULD be your own fault if we were bad kids. You teach us how to behave."

Mom: !!

Second child: "well you only teach us how to be, we get to choose to behave good."

Mom: Ahh!
