Cute pictures from the month of Feb

A little boy who says "Mare-Me" for this lady now.

A puppy lost and found.  We are all the more grateful to have her home with us.

Loving a day away with the family and the fun we can have at a children's museum.
Boys like to pound playdough while older children study.

Numbers are coming along nicely when you are 4.

English work for a 7th grader who seems to work fine with pounding in the background.

just living and not blogging

So I realize that I haven't taken the time to blog lately.   I've been squeezing the days a much as I can.  As we anticipate the weather changing we are enjoying the time outside with our dog.
(Do you blame me?  Aren't those eyes just saying "play with me"?)

We have been cooking quite a bit when we do come in.  These cinnamon rolls from scratch by a 12 year old who is becoming quite an accomplished baker (as well as keeping the house in clean clothes for the month of September).  We've made and eaten pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, pear pie, apple pie, zucchini bread, summer squash bread and the weekly granola to just name a few....

Lastly we have been doing great on Math.  I must say our homeschooling days are beginning to get rhythm and we finish by lunch with no troubles.  This 100 chart was finished by 7 year old boy and he just couldn't put it away without taking a proof photo for daddy.  We've enjoyed Body Math during the month of September and will be exchanging some of our manipulatives on the shelf for new ones in the closet.

I hope you are enjoying the last dregs of Indian summer.

just in case you wondered why the lights are on at 4:30am around here.
My monastery has a new dimension.  Prayer while it's still dark.

The perfect tree

Was waiting just for us today. We were so happy to have a little snow on everything to make it beautiful.

Watch for pictures on how it will look decorated.

gone doggie~!

I love how the fall light plays off her ears here. I had just asked if she had seen a squirrel in the yard. I got her full attention!

and more dawg!

She loves the kids...someone tried to warn us that Jack Russells and kids don't mix. But we disagree. She takes good care of them and doesn't get too mad when they forget to feed and water her!

DAWG!

in trouble....found on my bed!

those almond eyes...

profile this!
I just can't resist these photos of our dog! She is TOTALLY a Jack Russell Terrier. You love to take her on walks and play with her, but she just drives people crazy when they come to visit! If you give her any attention, she will torpedo you. We like to think she was our first baby...to teach us how to parent. But she still needs lots of direction.
