Louisa May
I just finished the new biography on Louisa May Alcott. What surprised me is how much her family impacted her life....and I wanted to learn more about her father who was in the Transcendentalist movement of the U.S. I found that the movie based on this book will happen very soon. Catch it on PBS. Looks like visiting her Orchard House might be something to add to our next East Coast trip.

Movie reviews: Father of Mercy and the Rape of Europa
Okay so I watched it. And cried and cried. Today Fr. Carlo Gnocchi becomes SAINT Fr. Carlo Gnocchi. I would like to learn more about the children that he cared for after the war and if any of them are on their way to sainthood. What a life to live...and the difficulty of war.
And the other WW2 movie? I really AM on a theme here aren't I? It was more enlightening that the Monuments Men was in giving the whole picture of Hilter and WW2. What a confused bunch of years for us in the US....we must have really closed our eyes to the damage he was causing in Europe and around the globe. It makes me think that perhaps we don't know the whole picture of what still continues in other countries today. Perhaps we will find that the same horrors are going on today in Africa and Russia.

Tender moments...
Perhaps it is the cold that I am struggling through. Or the fact that my sweet boy had his first (!) bike wreck today. But I found this movie about the children in China to read the deep vein in my heart. I find myself tonight wondering why the world has turned to so much hatred in the last century and why we don't try to stop it. The story of George Webb and his little (great!)work in life to change the lives of sixty boys was captured so well in this flick. Worth watching.
