May is here and I am hurriedly (and simply) putting our plans together.
I have been encouraged to be more consistent with our CM style of short lessons and since my "support" group this week I have done better. I also have seen great results. The children desire the short lessons and are happy to be back on track. We've had loads of company over the last few weeks and it's time to be focused for the next eight weeks or so.
We will use this month to prepare for re-consecration to Jesus.
We will have a bible verse to memorize each week. We will use this for copywork as well as dictation on the last day.
I'm reading Simple Abundance each day for simple ways to be joyful. I'm re-reading a biography of St. Philip Neri-my claimed saint of JOY.
Week 1 Service-we hope to visit a new shut-in this week in our town.
"Behold I am the handmade of the Lord"-Luke 1:38
Week 2 Obedience-work to be saying Yes to everyone who asks. (even mommy!)
"Be it done unto me according to your word" Luke 1:38
Week 3 Thanksgiving-Send a thank you note this week to someone who has been kind to us.
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior." Luke 1:46
Week 4 Adoration-work to pray together with daddy! every night as a family.
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you" Luke 1:35
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you" Luke 1:35

More learning about Blessed Margaret Pole-our saint for Little Flowers club. Her virtue is courage so we are reading books about courageous people. Other words we are using as synonyms are fortitude and perseverance.
Oldest daughter will finish up her sewing projects for 4H.
Middle daughter will begin the next level of Math (yeah for finishing rightStart Math B).
Son will continue to work on reading. He's progressing more quickly with shorter lessons!

Thinking about ways to showcase our family at a reunion for my grandmother over Memorial Day weekend. Perhaps with a violin trio? and a song by a three year old?
We will conclude this month with a consecration to Jesus.
