Ready for school...

People say that you can find the school supplies in the stores now.  I see people posting on Facebook about the days left of summer.  I hear people shopping for their school needs.  I got the HUGE Rainbow Resource catalog in the mail.

School is coming.  Summer has slipped away.  So as others prepare I have begun to evaluate what I need for a school year to seem successful.

Do we need new crayons?  What books should we buy?  How many new pairs of shoes?  Any new school clothes?

Perhaps that isn't what is necessary.  Those are all just nice to have.  What is need for a good school year?

A contrite heart is on my mind.  When I am open to the Holy Spirit, I learn more.  My children teach me.

Psalm 51:17  Lord, you will open my lips;
and my mouth will proclaim your praise.
For you do not desire sacrifice* or I would give it;
a burnt offering you would not accept.
My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit;
a contrite, humbled heart, O God, you will not scorn.
